Probably most people snap a photo or two, here and there, if they find a nice scene on their way home or to the next Yoshinoya. Like me.
Early 2017 was the year I started shooting the streets of Tokyo for the purpose of shooting the streets of Tokyo.
In the beginning, those shots included a lot of urban environments, traditional surroundings, and typical local infrastructures. Over time, however, the focus changed to its people.. the Tokyokko.
I called this series “Mon Amour Tokyo” after a song by Pizzicato Five, simply because I always was and still am in love with this very city.
「東京、月が綺麗ですね。」
“Tsuki ga kirei desu ne.”
translates to “The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?”
This phrase is a poetic way of saying I love you.
